Nurse Molly Tribute to Nurses in WW1

February 5, 2018

Sometime later in the year Dedham Art Society will be showcasing some paintings, done by members of the Society, which pay tribute to all the people that were involved in WW1.  This included Soldiers, Nurses, Land Girls, Sailors - Merchant and Navy, Airmen and Factory workers and many many other jobs.  This is my latest contribution dedicated to the frontline nurses.

This I have done in Poster style.  Many recruitment posters featured the different forces and the most famous of course is the "Your country needs you. "

I am now going to embark on a Painting about The Women's Movement and their receiving the vote which celebrates it's 100th Anniversary this year 2018.   Millicent Fawcett, who founded the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies in 1897 fought to allow married women to vote in local elections and In 1918  Women got the vote.  Going to do some research.......

If you feel you have an image I might be interested in please feel free to forward them to me.  thanks
